Sediment Study Volunteer Training

Sediment study training will be held at the Community Building Lobby, 6:30 – 7:30 pm  on Wednesday, December 13th, 2017.

The Community Building Lobby – 35 W Main Street, Spokane WA – this training is necessary before volunteers can be checked out to collect samples.

  • Learn about how we will take sediment samples, where we will sample and how we will record transparency samples of sediment in the Spokane River and Hangman Creek.
  • The Study will take one hour of volunteer time a week.  The samples will be collected once a week (Saturday) by pairs of volunteers – A vehicle is needed and availability on a weekend.
  • The sampling locations are right in and around the mouth of Hangman Creek in the Sandifur Bridge and TJ Meenach location of the Spokane River.
  • Sediment Study will begin first Saturday of January and run through the last Saturday of June/July.
