EIS Scoping Meeting Columbia-Snake River Dams

October 24-Jan 17th – Scoping Meetings and Public Input.

  • Scoping meetings will be held from October 24 – December 8th in 14 communities in the Columbia Basin and one in Seattle.
  • Trout Unlimited would like to find at least one volunteer per meeting to testify on behalf of the organization, their State Council and their local chapter.
  • We will provide talking points, but encourage a local voice at these events.
  • Public written comments will close Jan. 17, 2017

March 2020 – is the expected date of a written Draft Environmental Impact Statement – So these meetings are hugely important to be involved in and will set the tone for these management of these dams for years to come.

Michael Gibson – Trout Unlimited SCP Idaho Field Coordinator, will be managing all outreach with chapters etc. for Idaho and Montana meetings

Dwayne Meadows – TU PNW Outreach Coordinator, will be managing all outreach with chapters for Washington and Oregon.

We are your contacts for questions.  We will be holding a series of calls in the near future.  Michael and Dwayne will both be at the Idaho and Oregon Council meetings this October.

These Environmental Impact Statement Scoping Meeting will affect salmon and steelhead management on the following Army Corp and BOR managed dams

  1. Libby,
  2. Albeni Falls,
  3. Dworshak,
  4. Chief Joseph,
  5. Lower Granite,
  6. Little Goose,
  7. Lower Monumental,
  8. Ice Harbor,
  9. McNary,
  10. John Day,
  11. The Dalles, and
  12. Bonneville.
  13. Hungry Horse and
  14. Grand Coulee.

So mark your calendars and be there to provide comments!
